release of the GMS-2 GIS Mapping GPS receiver

The GMS-2 is a small hand
held dual constellation satellite tracking
receiver that is packed with features and
performance. The GMS-2 was specifically
designed with the GIS market in mind. It
is small, very light weight, extremely
portable and quite user friendly.
Powered by Topcon’s TPSCORE® GPS chip technology, the GMS-2 provides
50 channel tracking capability. This allows plenty of channels for both
GPS and Glonass satellites.
Utilizing an external antennal you can
use the GMS-2 to collect L1 data for post
processing yielding accuracies down to
1CM. Another alternative with the GMS-2 is to use a correctional service
for real-time DGPS. The GMS-2 provides access to WAAS correction service
as a standard feature. You can also use the optional BR-1 Coast Guard
Beacon Receiver allowing the GMS-2 to receive a correction from the many Coast
Guard Beacons distributed around the United States.
Another terrific feature of the GMS-2
is the integrated digital camera and electronic
compass. That is correct! You
can collect and store the image of the
feature as well as the GPS coordinate location.
You also have a choice of TopSURV-GIS
Software for standard GIS functionality
or TopPAD for the advanced GIS professionals
who need the functionality of ESRI ArcInfo
software.
