Title: 2007 Topcon California Roadshow
Date:
5/25/07
Detail:
It was a tremendous success! The turnout was higher than expected and the enthusiasm of the attendees was amazing. The event was held at Topcon’s training and test site in Pleasanton, CA on May 25th. What a great location. The facility was perfect and allowed us to show the equipment working under real world applications.
There was something very special for everyone attending. We featured a number of “First Ever” in product and technology for our market place. “First Ever” to be shown at a roadshow was Topcon’s new 3DI Excavator System. It performed flawlessly and was a tremendous hit! Another “First Ever” was the use of Topcon California’s GPS Network to provide GPS corrections for most of the GPS products on site. That’s correct, no base station!
The test site was divided up into specific areas designed for demonstrating specific applications. Below are a few photos showing an overview of the site.

Surveyors had a chance to see first hand the GPT-7000i Imaging Total Station in action! There was even a 42” monitor utilized to better demonstrate the powerful PI3000 Imaging Software.
The motorgrader and the Hiper Lite + rover are working without a GPS base station! In both cases they are working off the Topcon California GPS Network. Click here to learn more about working without a base station using the Topcon California GPS Network.
We kept this dozer busy the entire day. As you can see the dozer was equipped with Topcon’s 3D System utilizing a twin antenna setup. The twin antenna aids in the determination of the direction of travel as
well as the true roll of the blade.
